My Plan
I plan to take pictures that show a dancer dancing in a studio during the first section of class at the barre. I want to show the softness of dance since I've been showing the toil in past projects.
Photo Shoot
I took these photos outside my dance studio, and I thought it would be really cool to have the dancer out in the snow with the sun setting behind her. I took a lot of photos with her throwing snow up and posing, along with her dancing in front of the snow. Her with the snow shows lightness and joy, something I think of when I think of breath and life.
Edited Photos
I chose these two photos because they both stood out to me and they were both clear and angled well. I wanted to make the blue in the photo with the girl who is throwing snow pop, so I put a turquoise filter on to make the sky brighter. For the second photo, I turned up the exposure so you could really see her form, and that was all I did because I really liked the natural lighting and setting of the photo. I also used the turquoise filter on the one where she is throwing snow, and then I made the last photo warm-toned just to change it up a bit.
Final Photo
This photo in my opinion is really pleasing and pretty to the eye, with the snow falling just right and the sun shining behind the girl, it shows the lightness and the breath of a dancer. The way the girl is posing too makes the photo even better. In the photo there is a girl who is dancing outside, and there is snow falling on her. The sun is right behind her, blocking out her face. There is a mountain behind her, and there are trees and a shed also in the background. The shape of the girl emphasizes that she is the main object. The sunlight/color shows the movement of the rays and how the sun is shining on the girl. The texture of the snow shows unity throughout the whole piece. This picture is very happy and peaceful, and when I look at it I think of the wonders of nature and how the snow looks so light. The girl is enjoying life, and this works well with the theme of breath.
